exceptionality rests on aesthetics grown over decades
Slow, minimal, silent, and precise are our main virtues, our main traits in developing our yachts. Inspired by the aesthetics from Emanuel Kant, the dialectics from Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel, and the “Laws of Form” from Georg Spencer-Brown. This let us develop the needed thinking. This opened the eyes for the concept of “salutogenesis” from Aaron Antonovsky. Following the values from the “Universal Declaration of Human Rights” let us develop the needed approach deeply connected to the concept of humanism.
Socialised and grown up in a small village within the mountains of Kitzbühel, Tyrol, a lifelong and immortal connection to the nature and our environment developed. With Niklas Luhmann, the understanding of “being part of a system” made it clear, we can not just observer, we have to act. Seeing the “Pasterze Glacier” as a six year old kid and then 20 years later made it undoubtedly, there is something enormously devastating going on. Today it is clear to us, we are heading towards the by far worst humanitarian catastrophe since the 2nd World War caused by global warming, climate change, and the loss of biodiversity.
So, (1) “zero emission” is for us indispensable, goes along with (2) a maximum level of energy self-sufficiency, and (3) a best possible healthy lifestyle (salutogenesis) . In the sense of Hegel, these three goals are contradictory, so we are lost in the dialectics of simultaneity.
A process of perfection starts with endless interactions, loads of discipline, awareness & sensitivity, and patience. Time is not money, time is improvement towards something impossible made possible. All of this is done with hope. Hope in the sense of doing something meaningful, without knowing the outcome. Days and nights of thinking and re-thinking. Giving up is not an option. It is a task, a life task to actually deliver to our best.
Today, our design follows these three central claims and we think, this results in the best 60ft sailing yacht ever constructed. Sustainability is understood as the minimal investment of materials with the best possible performance. Sustainability is thought as a production process in accordance with a healthy lifestyle for all the involved. The price of the yachts is calculated towards a maximum of wealth for all stakeholders, including the future owners of the yachts. While every yacht is a unique creation out of a collaborative process with our costumers based on the values we represent.
By doing this, we understand, that we are producing exclusivity which leads us to another dialectics of simultaneity. We solve this, because we take decisions. Decisions, we think they are the best in interest of our nature, our environment, our employees, our supplier, and our customers.
