1.5°C global warming tipping point is expected by September 2029

Latest data from “The Copernicus Climate Change Service (C3S)” (copernicus.eu) and its “C3S Global temperature trend monitor” shows global warming reached 1.38°C in February 2025.

Reaching 1.5°C of global warming above pre-industrial levels – the limit agreed under the “Paris Agreement” – is expected by September 2029, within ca. 4.5 years.

We understand, 1.5°C is a “physical limit”. Above 1.5°C, global warming, climate change, and the loss of biodiversity is “likely out of human control” since tipping points are reached and self-reinforcing cycles will be activated.
